Kiyomizudera

We saw many monks just like him in Kyoto.

I found Mommy and Momo!  Can you?

Japanese Duty Free Shop!

After walking up hill for about 7 minutes, we're finally here!

Niou-mon is the red gate where two wooden warrior statues guard.  They are located in the green area.

Let me entertain those scary warriors!

Right at the gate, we found pretty pink flowers blooming!

Peach Blossoms!

Now we're off to see the famous "stage of Kiyomizudera Temple."  It's 13 meters high!!

That's not it.

Ahh!  Here we are!!

It's tilted a little, so watch your step!

We can see Kyoto Tower from here.

This is right below us.

Hey, Sis!  It said, "Do Not Enter"!

This is how it looks from the side.

I wasn't afraid of heights...until I looked below and it looked like this.

They said they didn't use a single nail putting these pillars together.  Amazing!

Too bad we couldn't see the Cherry Blossoms this time.  I'm sure it would have been magnificent.

We decided to skip this because they were soooo many people.  It looks very nice, though.

The view from here is not so bad, either!

Family picture with Uncle Ken☆

This reminds me...

Ice cream!!!

This cracker (Yatsuhashi) was so hard I could hardly chew.

I can eat ice cream nice and clean!

What'dya say???

Wow!  What a big Taiyaki pancakes!

Tada~!!!

Just did it the Japanese way~!

Kinkakuji (Golden Pavillion)

Unlike dinner last night, our breakfast was served in a cafeteria.

Traditional Japanese breakfast has lots of dishes!

We had a pretty big breakfast before our tours in Kyoto.

It takes 2 adults and 1 sister to feed me the very last bite of this delicious meal.

We found a hot bento bending machine right by the bus terminal.

Did you say there's a hot bento near here, sis?

Yes!  Come this way!!

What a beautiful day for a tour!

I think even the air is so much fresher than LA!

Nice!! (as in Marumo no Okite, the popular Japanese Family Drama)

We're gonna have so much fun just thinking about this tour!

Big sis, I think we'd better board the bus soon or they'll leave us behind.

The first stop is none other than....wait, what does it say?

I believe it said Kinkaku Rokuonji (Gold Pavillion).

There is a big bell.

What a nice temple grounds.

Are we in one of those Samurai movie sets?

Look at the big yellow Orb in the middle of this picture!

Where?  I don't see it.  Maybe you have to be a Psychic like you to see it.  What a bummer...Oh wait, NOW I see it!

I don't know what this is, but it looks really old!

Finally!  This gotta be the Golden Pavillion!!

Wow, the reflection is also golden!!

Let's take the picture in front of it so people believe we actually visited this place!

This place somehow reminds me of "Spirited Away."

Ryokan (Japanese Traditional Inn)

After a long tiring walk in Nara, we came back to Ryokan in Kyoto.  Ryokan is a traditional Japanese Inn typically consists of nice hot springs and delicious traditional meals.  This particular Ryokan had black tatami, which was usually green.  Very modern touch, I must say.

'Nough about explanation, LET'S EAT!!!

Oops, sorry, Grandpa, I was just making sure your food looked as good as mine.

Seafood dish

Caramelized fish and smoked duck, with Spring vegetables and sushi

Baby Squid and mustard

Japanese Wagyu beef!!

This is how they were all presented~!

Okosama (Children's bento) Dinner with Yakisoba noodles, Spring rolls, croquette, sashimi, and hamburger meatloaf!

After the dinner, some of us enjoy a nice hot bath in the big Onsen (hot spring) room.  Sorry, no pictures from there. ;P

This is where I'm sleeping.  Look, I marked it with my Precure bag right next to it!

G'night, Kyoto!
